First time I use Bloombar watches to sell a watch and as all other reviews attest, everything was great and would highly recommend without hesitation. Quick email replies, good knowledge, very fair pricing and money wired to my account before I left. Add to that just lovely team/people to deal with. Will be on my list of people to use for next purchase and sale.

Google

Great experience from start to finish! Found Bloombar via a social media post and was hesitant at first to deal with a company in this way but so glad I did. The watch was presented in mint condition and a visit to their London office sealed the deal. Everyone at Bloombar knows their stuff and if you have questions or concerns, you can discuss them with experts. Will definitely return when next looking to buy.

Trustpilot

Flawless. Really satisfying to find a business that truly looks after you and has the patience to work with you to get exactly what you are looking for. Sam was brilliant.
The aftersales service (to adjust the strap and demonstrate how the watch functions work) has also been exemplary
There really is no other place to buy a watch.

How Much Is My IWC Worth?
Worn by celebrities including Lewis Hamilton, Jay Z and Dwayne Johnson, IWC watches are highly sought after especially when offering unique details or rare features.

To determine the value of your IWC, our in-house specialists will carefully analyse it and determine its place in current trends and auction prices.

Notable IWC models
We buy all models IWC, both current and vintage. Here are some of the most commonly traded IWC models:
Pilot’s Watches

IWC’s most famous and lauded collection is their Pilot’s Watches. First produced for civil aviation use in 1936, the Pilot’s Watch is a collector’s dream. Its popularity has increased over the years with new releases and limited edition iterations (covered below).

Big Pilot’s Watch

As the name suggests, the Big Pilot’s Watch increases key details on IWC’s most iconic timepiece. With a large dial, eye-catching large crown and power reserve indicator, the 46mm cases have been worn by Sylvester Stallone and Arnold Schwarzenegger.

Spitfire

IWC has produced high-performance watches for the RAF since 1947, with the Mark XI. In 2006, IWC celebrated this partnership with the Spitfire subcollection. With a vintage approach, it features a beige lume, retro aesthetics and a Big Pilot crown.

Top Gun

Not to be confused with any association with Tom Cruise’s household name film, the IWC Top Gun was designed as a genuine watch for U.S. Navy Pilots in 2007.

As a variation of the iconic Pilot’s Watch Chronograph, the Top Gun has a black ceratanium case and grey markings. Various iterations are available.

Le Petit Prince

Le Petit Prince is another Pilot’s Watch subcollection, inspired by the famous French fairy-tale ‘Le Petit Prince’.

Antoine de Saint-Exupéry’s story sees a prince travel across the stars while discovering loneliness, friendship, love, and loss. The story inspired the design process and use of the night sky-like royal blue dials. This stunning piece was limited to just 50 releases.

Portugieser

The Portugieser is one of IWC’s best-known watches, incorporating key elements of Haute Horlogerie. The original 1939 release, made for Portuguese merchants, inspired the crisp and conservative approach.

The Portugieser collection includes the stunning IWC Portugieser Hand-Wound Tourbillon Day & Night, which counteracts Earth’s gravity’s effects and includes 18 ct Armor Gold.

Ingenieur

Despite being originally launched with the Ingenieur Reference 666 in 1955, its true legacy arguably comes from the 1976 release by legendary watch designer Gerald Genta. Creating a fresh look and sporty steel case, the collection was relaunched in 2005 in partnership with Mercedes-AMG.

Twenty years later, the Ingenieur is now one of IWC’s most iconic collections with incredible detail and finishing.

Aquatimer

First launched in 1962, IWC’s divers watch is classic in its own right. The Aquatimer has gone through countless changes over the decades, including a partnership with Porsche, but has long featured an internal rotating timing bezel and no-nonsense finishing.

As of 2024, the collection offers an in-house movement, chronograph variants and special editions including the Aquatimer Perpetual Calendar Digital Date-Month Edition (the first-ever wristwatch made from Ceratanium).

We will provide you with a quote within 2-4 hours of your request. Naturally, the office can get busy, so if your sale is urgent then feel free to call us on 0207 458 4544 (Monday to Friday, 09:30am – 5:30pm).

  • This works great for IWC watches valued at over £15,000, bringing as much as 15-30% more in value.
  • To determine if consignment is right for you, consider if speed or price is your priority.
How Often Should an IWC Watch Be Serviced?

It’s recommended that IWC watches are serviced from time to time, especially if you use them frequently or during intense activity. Naturally, frequent use can affect performance.

For example, the water resistance is not permanent. Seals can erode and may need replacement. The current condition of your watch will affect valuation.

Feel free to contact us if you have any concerns about the condition of your IWC.
