Rolex Cosmograph Daytona 6239

£280,000

Bloombar Watches are proud and privileged to present this very original example of a 1967 Rolex Cosmograph Daytona 6239 ‘Paul Newman’.

This beautiful example, which has been lovingly owned by just a couple of collectors in its lifetime features an exotic cream chronograph dial with wonderful patina throughout and has no signs of any non-original parts.

The Rolex Cosmograph Daytona is one of the most iconic and collectable chronograph models by any watchmaker, in particular those with the “Exotic” or “Paul Newman” dials. These “Exotic” dials were alternatives to the standard dials at the time. Ironically, these dial variations were not particularly appreciated by the market at the time of production. The nickname “Paul Newman” caught on after collectors realized that Paul Newman had worn one of these watches frequently, particularly for his racing career. Paul Newman had a reference 6239 with the same style of dial and it was reportedly a gift from his wife.

The watch is sold with box ONLY and is NOT accompanied by its original papers.

Due to its age, this timepiece may not fall within our typical expected tolerances for timekeeping. The watch is no longer suitable for use in wet environments or submersion in water.

If I want to send my watch to you, how do I go about it?

With every offer, we send you a watch sale information form for you to fill and enclose with your watch if you do decide to send it in. We always recommend using Royal Mail Special Delivery and if you’re located within the M25, we do also offer a free, same-day collection service for high-value watches. Please do make sure that your watch is safely bubble wrapped to avoid any damage in transit and please upload the tracking number to your Bloombar Watches account as soon as you have it.
